Let’s talk Bed Yoga

With lots of talk about The Rest Club starting soon, a lot of you have been asking me: “What the heck is bed yoga?!”.

So for those of you who don’t know, bed yoga is quite simply, gentle yogic stretches performed in or on your bed! There are so many reasons why this is good for you, my favourite reasons are:

  • Deeply relaxing

  • Improved sleep

  • Gentle accessable movement

  • Low impact practice when you are injured or ill

  • Supports nervous system health

  • Nourishing and calming

This can be especially beneficial if you are in high-stress times, are low on energy or even unwell. This gentle practice offers you accessible, yogic movement to keep you grounded and ensure you’re melting that “fuzz” in the morning and unwinding for proper sleep at night at the end of the day.

Now you don’t have to worry- this is not a practice that means you’ll be standing and doing warrior II on your bed, wobbling about; this is a much more ‘stretch and release’ practice really focusing on keeping your body mobile and stress-free without heavy impact.

Regardless of your physical abilities or strength there is benefit to be found for everyone in a gentler practice. It is possible to do less, receive more and still be a good person!

If you would like to join me in some bed yoga, sign up for The Rest Club waiting List to get early access before the doors open to the public!

Want to try Bed Yoga before that? Join me this Sunday morning for a bed yoga session!

Got questions? check out the Q&A Below:

Q: Do I have to turn my camera on for Sundays class?

  • A: Nope! You’re in bed! It’s completely up to you whether or not you turn on your camera, simply tune in and enjoy

Q: Could I do a bed yoga class not in bed?

  • A: Sure can! But I always suggest being close to a couch or wall for any gentle ‘legs up the wall’ practices

Q: Do I need any equipment?

  • A: Not for bed yoga, you might use your pillows or the bed head (if you have one) but otherwise no.

Giving bed yoga a go? have some thoughts? Let me know!
